Post: Finance Officer

We are a growing organisation seeking a reliable and organised Finance Office / Bookkeeper to support our day-to-day financial requirements. This is a part-time role, approximately 10 hours per week to begin with, with flexible hours / days, and scope to increase as the business expands.
This position would be ideal for someone local to our Head Office in Three Bridges, Crawley. We operate a hybrid way of working, balancing office presence with working from home to promote a healthy work / life balance.

We are an ambitious, growing organisation providing a Supported Lodgings service for Care Leavers and Young People facing homelessness across Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Greater London and beyond.
Our small friendly team operates a hybrid, flexible way of working, tailored to the needs of our young people and Hosts as well as ensuring a positive work / life balance for staff.
We seek an experienced finance officer, capable of independently overseeing financial operations with precision and discretion. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing day-to-day finance / bookkeeping tasks
- Recording income and expenditure
- Bank reconciliations
- Managing invoices and payments
- Preparing payroll for accountants
- Maintaining accurate financial records and internal systems
- Prepare income and expenditure reports and cashflow statements
There would also be interaction with local authorities, social workers, Hosts and occasionally young people. It is important you are able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, demonstrate a positive outlook, flexible approach, natural empathy, compassion, and resilience. You will also require:
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting Xero software
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Ability to manage workload independently
- Professional, discreet and experienced in handling confidential information
- Right to work in the UK

Payment Pro rata £29,000 per annum.
