What is Supported Lodgings?

3 Bridge Solution CIC Supported Lodgings matches individuals or families who have a spare room in their home, with young people aged 16-25 who are leaving the Care system or are at risk of homelessness.

As well as the personal reward of helping transform a young person’s life, 3 Bridge Solution CIC Supported Lodgings Hosts also receive up to £240 a week for rent and for the time spent providing support to the young person.

At 3 Bridge Solution CIC we believe all young people starting on the road to adult life should have the support and advice available to them in an environment where they can safely practice and develop the life skills necessary to live independently”.

3 Bridge Solution CIC provides a Supported Lodgings service which helps young people aged 16-25 progress toward independence.

At 3 Bridge Solution CIC we believe all young people starting on the road to adult life should have support and advice available to them and an environment in which they can safely practice and develop the skills they need on their journey toward independence.

Supported Lodgings provides a safe home in a supportive and nurturing environment and a platform from which young people can achieve successful outcomes.

3 Bridge Solution Supported Lodgings Hosts (Landlords) come from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures, truly representing the demographic of the community. Our Hosts are carefully vetted, with Enhanced DBS, CRS and Tenancy Relations checks and are fully trained in areas such as Safeguarding, Mental Health, First Aid, Equal Opportunities, Modern Slavery, working in a Person Centric way, Restorative Practice, Trauma Informed support and much more.

Our Progression Coaches work with both the young person (Lodger) and Host, supporting both to maximise the benefits of the Supported Lodgings placement and help provide the best possible environment for young people to feel at home. A Life Skills programme is agreed early in the Supported Lodgings placement and each person’s role in the development of the programme clearly defined.  

The Progression Coach carries out regular reviews of the Supported Lodgings placement as well as supporting the young person toward positive outcomes in areas such as: education, employment and training, budgeting and money management, positive relationships, emotional wellbeing, staying safe, community involvement, and encourages the young person to enjoy opportunities to engage in activities and to celebrate their success. 

Young people referred to 3 Bridge Solution Supported Lodgings Service, come from a variety of backgrounds; they may have recently left care or been made homeless, some will present with challenges, and some will have experienced trauma in the lives.  

3 Bridge Solution Supported Lodgings Service works in a non-judgemental, blame free, compassionate manner, incorporating strong values and beliefs – that all young people deserve the opportunity to maximise their potential.  

3 Bridge Solution deliver Supported Lodgings Services for vulnerable young people in West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Essex and London.

3 Bridge Solution Supported Lodgings service helps young people aged 16-25 develop the life skills they need to live independently. Supported Lodgings Hosts help bridge the gap young people face between being in care or living at home.

The young people referred to 3 Bridge Solution Supported Lodgings may have experienced trauma in their lives, they may be experiencing difficulty in transitioning into adulthood, they may have been in care or recently made homeless.
